Day 19: 30 Days of Prayer for Hope
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. (Deuteronomy 6:5-7)
Like the other Hope houseparents, Jardelho and Natalha have made a ten-year commitment to Hope. They are primary care providers for a home with three sibling groups—a total of twelve children. Jardelho and Natalha have embraced the children as their own, truly becoming family for each child in their care. The children see the love of Christ modeled in their home every day.
Father, it can be overwhelming to have one, two, or even three teenagers under one roof—even those who have known stability their entire lives. We can scarcely comprehend what it must be like to take care of twelve or more children who come with extraordinary baggage and immeasurable hurts. Please bless our houseparents. Give them grace, patience, and wisdom. Let each child see your love in their lives.
