Bio

D Nowell favela

I am a writer, speaker, Executive Director of Hope Institute.

My circuitous career path includes farming, oil field roustabout, construction superintendent, brick mason, pastor, chaplain, college administrator, orphan advocate, and author.

Even so, the worst day on a tractor is better than the best day behind a desk– and fly fishing is morally superior to all other outdoor pursuits.

I like westerns (books and movies) and can quote lines from the best film noir.

I am a husband, father, grandfather and churchman.

There are no super Christians; there is only normative faith.

I am a follower of Christ.

I love orphans, and my heart breaks for those cast off by the world.

I like cures, not Band-aids.

I am a sojourner pursuing dirty faith – and I invite you to join me on the journey.
