Day 28:  30 Days of Prayer for Hope

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses. (Acts 1:8)

Several years ago, a group of young Hope graduates formed their own church. A couple of years ago, we watched as a group of former street children—young women who had been trafficked as little girls and young men who had escaped cycles of drug abuse and poverty—were introduced as the church leadership team—the ministers of the fellowship.

The really impressive thing is that this is a serving community, missional in the truest sense of the word. They host a weekly children’s Bible story time for the kids of the abutting slum. They never meet anyone with a destroyed life who they do not believe God can redeem—because they have experienced that redemption themselves. They are commissioning church planters from their congregation. They are financially supporting the work of Hope through their tithes and offerings. They have become vessels of grace for others as Hope was a vessel of grace for them.

Father, we thank you for the spreading ripples of your love as those you have transformed become the agents of transformation for others. We ask your blessing upon this growing fellowship, and for every life touched by this community of faith.
