To you they cried out and were saved; in you they trusted and were not put to shame. But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by everyone, despised by the people. All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads. “He trusts in the Lord,” they say, “let the Lord rescue him. Let him deliver him, since he delights in him.” Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you, even at my mother’s breast. From birth I was cast on you; from my mother’s womb you have been my God. Do not be far from me, for trouble is near and there is no one to help.

“Uncle Philip, I love it here,” she said. “But I will do anything to get drugs.” 14-year-old Adrianna had been living at Hope Unlimited for two weeks, but her eyes were still dull from years of crack abuse. She continued to feel the grip of drugs. As a 10-year-old, she was introduced to the easily accessible drugs in the slum where she lived; by age 12, she sold her body to fund her growing habit. Soon, she was locked into an escalating spiral.

After months of counseling, support, and constant reminders of her self-worth, though, Adrianna changed. We saw a young girl delivered to Christ and completely transformed.
